Sewing? or maybe not?

So, have you seen how so many people are using their sewing machines on their layouts? I have taken notice and I absolutely LOVE it!!!! The problem you say? Well, I can't sew! I mean I got my grandma's sewing machine when she passed last fall and I tried to sew on a mini album and......are you ready......(shhhh i broke the needle) GASP! I know right?!?!?!?! I don't know how to replace and I got frustrated so I just put it up. :( So I have to get my "sewing" technique another way......and here is my layout:

See.....from far away you would NEVER know I used a pen!!!!!! I used Noel Mignon's May Kit Jack and Jill for this....(sorry it's all sold out but I hear she has a waiting list and about to open up more subs!) Anyway-I typically do not scrap photos like this b/c it's not a "perfect" picture of the 3 of us...but more times than not this is what I get so I scrapped it! This was me and the kiddos on Easter morning! Anyway-back to the sewing...I just used THIS  favorite pen of Christy Tomlinson which is also MY FAVORITE doodle pen! And I have a new love for butterflies and stars???!!! Go figure! That bottom pocket came in the kit also and I wasn't crazy about the front and wasn't sure I would use it so I just flipped it over, misted it and added some embellishments and then tucked away some journaling....easily accessible by pulling on the tiny clothespin! Which is Adorable! So go ahead and try some "sewing" if you dare!!!! (I'll stick to what works for me :)

Post-Scrapbook Retreat

So this past weekend I was blessed to be able to spend ALL weekend scrapbooking! I was soooo EXCITED! Hubby kept the kids and grandma came up for a night to help. They all survived and I got my scrap on! Brandi from Scrapbook Addiction and her team were so nice and welcoming to me! I enjoyed so much scrapping with them and just chit chatting! I will do it every year that the hubs lets me!!!!!! I cannot wait to go back! Thus, I thought I would share some layouts I did! I actually completed 12 layouts and learned lots of fun techniques and was reminded of styles and things I once I loved!!!!!! I won't share all my layouts today b/c I don't want you to be in overload so I will share a few today and a few throughout the week! Thanks for stopping by in my little scrapbook world!

Sketch 146

Good morning! It's been a crazy week around here! Not much time for blogging but hopefully that will calm down soon!?!?!? I have no idea. I having kiddos keeps me busy! Well the latest sketch over at twisted sketches went up yesterday and I didn't have time to post! Here is my take:

I used the Jeni Bowlin hexagon stickers to shape out a semi circle and flowers for the other embellishment. I used all items from the Homespun Kit at noel mignon. I really like this layout! :D I hope you all do too.

So come on over to the Twisted Sketches Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has whipped up, grab some inspiration and play along! Have a great weekend!

(Pssssttt.....there is an online scrapping weekend over at Shimelle Lane going on this weekend....I'm going to try and participate and you should too!)

Today has been one of THE most relaxing days I've had in a long time! I dropped the kiddos off where they needed to be, went to the park and walked a mile....only a mile because it is up and down hill and I'm new at this! I had my ipod on and I was rockin and praisin Jesus and remembering that Easter is coming up quickly and My Savior died on the cross for me! WOW what a thought huh! After that I came home, made me some coffee, gathered some books and headed to the church.  I enjoyed about an hour long conversation with our fill in pastor and man! I am ENCOURAGED!  That's all I can say is it was a blessing to talk with him and get some insight and encouragement!

After leaving there I decided I was heading down to the river for some peace and quiet.....and it was peaceful! Relaxation at its best! Here is where I was:

I thought it was peaceful and serene and I plan to spend many more hours there! If you know me at all you will know I am NOT an outdoorsy kinda ALL! But this.....this just made me fall into the arms of my savior and relax! I did some bible study, spent some time in prayer, watched the water roll by and just enjoyed my time there.  I want to go back tomorrow after all the Easter egg hunts but we shall see. I do need to do some housework.

I also wanted to share this picture:

I saw these crosses yesterday on my walk and they brought me to tears thinking about this week over 2000 years ago.  To know that I was on His mind....what a powerful thought.

I hope you all have a blessed Thursday and a GREAT Good Friday tomorrow! :D

Here is my take on the sketch:

I love the simplicity in this allows me to just remember the day and how Jackson and I just laughed and giggled taking pics.....

Multi-Photo Mayhem

Happy Tuesday to you all! I have been following the weekly videos over at Two Peas in a Bucket..... have you? I think my favorite ones are by Glitter Girl and this week is about using multiple photos.  I don't usually use more than one photo....not sure why that is, it just kinda of "happened" over the last year or so as my style and I like it and it works for me.  However, she had a simple layout challenge for me this week....she used page protector that already had dividers in it.  I just took the same concept and applied it directly to my 12x12 paper.  I also flipped the sketch b/c I didn't have enough vertical photos that I liked.  Here is my layout and you can find it in the gallery here:

I also used all products from the Noel Mignon kit Primrose Lane (sorry all sold out!!!!) But she is taking names for a wait list and when she gets enough she will up the number of subs!!!!!

I LOVED these pictures of one of my best friends kids and my kiddos.  We spent a week in July back in 2010 up at her house and it was great! We decided to let the kids make their own pizzas and of course this MAMARAZZI got her camera out! I have had them for a very long time and have been WAITING to scrap them and this was perfect! Jackson was about 6 months old and I grabbed a pic of him patiently waiting to eat!

Enjoy! Hope you all have a great week and I will have another post tomorrow with a layout participating over at Twisted Sketches! It's not my week but I decided to play along this week b/c I was in a scrapping mood and wanted to play! Come over and join everyone tomorrow!
